HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (1 POSITION AVAILABLE)
West Manchester Township is seeking one (1) candidate for the position of Highway Department Equipment Operator. This position consists of constructing and maintaining roads, storm sewers, inlets, swales, and ditches, building maintenance and grounds, assist with park maintenance, operates and maintains heavy equipment including a backhoe, dump truck, roller, paver, mini-ex, loader, street sweeper, leaf collector, and snowplow. Operates, maintains, and repairs small hand tools, power tools, mowers, and tractors. This position conducts a majority of their duties in the outdoors and often is subjected to inclement weather. Must be available for on-call duty in times of snow and similar emergencies. A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required with a minimum of two years’ experience in construction equipment operation is preferred. SEWER DEPARTMENT OPERATOR (1 POSITION AVAILABLE)
West Manchester Township is seeking one (1) candidate for the position of Sewer Department Operator. The sewer operator conducts a wide range of tasks ranging from manual labor to working with technical equipment to maintain the Township sewer system including pump stations. This position operates television equipment monitors, flow meters, sewer routers, flush trucks, generators, and pumps. Also operates heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoe, and loader. The sewer operator also repairs broken, leaking, and blocked sewer lines and laterals and repairs pump station equipment and sewer department equipment when need be. This position also marks sewer line locations in conjunction with the Pennsylvania On Call System. The sewer operator constructs sewer lines, laterals, and manholes. Aiding the highway department in various tasks if needed. This position is also subject to on-call duty in times of sewer line breaks and other emergencies involving snow emergencies. A current CDL license is preferred but must be obtained after being hired and obtaining a sewer operator’s license within the first 12 months of employment is required.
