Accessibility statement for West Manchester Township
We want everyone who visits the West Manchester Township website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.
What are we doing?
To help us make the West Manchester Township website a positive place for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the West Manchester Township website and will continue to make improvements as our website evolves.
We have used landmarks and headings to make navigation easier and we have included descriptive text for images used on the site. We have also made keyboard navigation accessible and have used color and contrast settings to improve readability.
All our content is provided in HTML. Portable Document Format (PDF) versions are available for most of our forms and longer documents. One popular viewer for PDF files is Acrobat Reader. We recommend that screen reader users configure their systems so that PDF files are opened within Adobe Acrobat instead of within a browser window so that the forms are accessible.
We have tested our website with various browsers and we recommend that Internet Explorer be used for the best user experience.
How are we doing?
We’ve worked hard on the West Manchester Township website and believe we’ve achieved our goal of Level A accessibility and many Level AA guidelines. We monitor the website regularly to maintain this and we continue to improve accessibility to meet all AA guidelines, but if you do find any problems, please get in touch.
